Clean Eats for Super Bowl Sunday

Clean Eats for Super Bowl Sunday

I love a great Super Bowl game.  Well, I really should say I love the idea of a GREAT Super Bowl Family Party during the game.   Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy watching football at times, but I just think I like the tradition of the day and eating fun food while enjoying the fellowship of family and friends.  I love watching the commercials and a good halftime show!

I know a lot of people enjoy the pizza, wings, chips and dip, and all the things associated with Football Party Food, but hate how bloated and sick they feel afterwards so I wanted to bring you a quick look into my Super Bowl Party Menu for 2017!  It’s fun clean eating at it’s best!  I’m going to keep this short and to the point because these days I don’t have time for a long blog post so I figure you are just like me too!

Drummette Recipe (My Daddy Taught Me This One)

  • Do NOT pre-heat the oven
  • Get baking pans and spray with olive oil or avocado oil
  • You pick the number of pounds of chicken you want.  Sprinkle with Old Bay Seasoning, Salt and Pepper to your liking or any spices you like (my other favorites:  Cumin and Curry).
  • Place in an oven for 20 minutes on 425 but don’t preheat the oven.
  • Take out after 20 minutes and flip all and place back in the oven for another 20
  • Take out and flip again place back in the oven for 9 minutes
  • Take out and flip again place back in the oven for 9 minutes
  • Take out and flip again place back in the oven for 9 minutes
  • Take out and flip again place back in the oven for 9 minutes (this 9 is optional) If your wings aren’t sticking to the pan they are done!  You want them crisp but not dry!

Remove from the pan and place on paper towel to absorb some of the fat.

MY PERSONAL FRESH GUACAMOLE RECIPE (my secret ingredient)

4 Avocados (Soft but not mushy)
1/3 cup red onion chopped
1/4 cup of fresh cilantro chopped
Juice from one LEMON (that’s the secret. No Lime)
Pink Himalayan Salt
Mix well together.  Very simple but “OH SO GOOD!”
