Detoxing is not just about eliminating unhealthy food…
It’s about detoxing from unhealthy life habits…
So, I must confess… One of the hardest areas of my life to detox from is constant movement. I feel like I have 1,001 things to do on my “list,” and all these goals, dreams, and aspirations have “deadlines!” I don’t have any trouble using my time “wisely” and checking stuff off my list, but I have a problem slowing down, a problem with turning off my brain and just chillin’
That’s why I try to “disengage” from Friday night to Saturday Night (Shabbat Shalom/Sabbath Peace) and focus on my family and those things that really matter in my life. I also find time to slip away with girlfriends for a special relaxing night out or a weekend “get away” 3-4 times a year.

In fact, I’m hitting a yoga retreat this weekend with 2 amazing friends to decompress a little and focus on “me.” I’ll take it as a time to slow down and be fully present.
I hope you can find time to make relaxation a part of your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly detoxification practice. Remember, that life is not just about movement, but momentum and sometimes you have to slow down to speed up!
