This has become one of my favorite drinks at night. It has amazing health benefits like lowering blood sugar and reducing inflammation in the body. Inflammation in the body usually leads to disease so anything I can drink to bring about reduced inflammation I’m completely down with!
The older I get the more I feel the effects of my youth. Exercise without stretching. Eating inflammatory diets: Sugar, sugar, sugar, wheat, wheat, wheat! So I went on a quest to find foods I could consume daily that would reduce inflammation in my body. I’ve found that Turmeric is the “Spice of Life” and can add years to your life. I love it so much I have it for breakfast most of the time (check out my turmeric egg scramble blog post) and as a nightcap with Golden Milk!
I use a really simple recipe each night for my drink; however, I’ve included a couple other links to sites with more information about this wonder tonic and some other recipes that might strike your fancy!
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup coconut milk from a can
3/4 teaspoons of Turmeric
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
Black Pepper to Taste
